Connor started working at Roost while he was studying for his A'Levels. After University, he rejoined the team as a barista. Since then he has worked across Espresso Bar and the Roastery, fulfilling online orders for our wholesale and retail customers. 

He is a very popular member of the team with customers, offering football conversation, particularly Newcastle United! 

Connor's favourite coffee is a Sumatran long black.

C O L D B R E W We are excited to share with yo C O L D  B R E W 

We are excited to share with you some new cold brew cans from @kissthehippo. Part of the new summer drinks menu at the Espresso Bar, including iced coffee, and a selection of juices.

The coffee itself is organic and delicious, freshly ground, and then brewed low and slow for 18 long hours in cool, filtered water. The result is a perfectly balanced cold brew coffee with a clean and silky flavour.

Full-bodied, smooth, and super tasty, it's also carbon-negative – meaning this cold coffee won't warm the planet.

Hopefully this Easter weekend will bring us some sunshine 🌞

PROCESS: Washed
VARIETY: Anacafe 14
ALTITUDE GROWN: 1200m
NOTES: Green Grape, Jammy Lime & Burnt Sugar

Alejandro Martinez Anaya owns a 250-hectare farm called San Jose, where he has 60 hectares planted with Anacafe 14 among other coffee varieties. On Alejandro’s farm, the coffee is picked ripe and fermented in its cherries, for about 18 hours. It’s depulped the following day and washed before being set to dry in a casa elba (rooftop drying structure) for 32 days.

Veracruz is situated on the gulf, with coastal plains rising steeply into the mountains. Coffee first came to Mexico by way of the Spanish and was planted in Veracruz. Coffee has been part of the culture of this region since, and in recent years, we’ve noticed the development of rust-resistant hybrids being grown around the town of Cotapec. These small community producers are adapting to the challenges of the past decade, and the quality coming out of this region leads us to believe this is Mexico’s premier region for specialty coffees.
